Lake Rotopounamu
We took the opportunity to walk around Lake Rotopounamu at the end of a long weekend staying at Omori, Lake Taupo.Rotopounamu is a small lake nestled in native bush on Mt Pihanga and is easily accessible for walkers of all ages. The round trip of the lake takes around two hours, I'd suggest starting early to leave plenty of time to enjoy lunch or a small picnic at the small beach on the eastern side of the lake.We sighted Miromiro (Tomtit), Kereru, Karearea (New Zealand Falcon) and Toutouwai (North Island Robin), though only the Miromiro and Toutouwai obliged us with photos![gallery ids="686,688,689,690,691,692,695,687,685,694,693" type="rectangular"]
